Culture in Durham

Heartfelt Vibes

Kujipenda intends to create a dynamic cultural arts space that archives black stories, experiences, and accomplishments through writing, databases, music and visual media. This inclusive platform not only celebrates the rich tapestry of Afro-Caribbean culture and history but also delves into the exploration of the intersection of trauma and equity.

Engaging in meaningful programming and discussions about systematic oppression, racial trauma, and their impact on individuals, this initiative seeks to foster understanding and promote healing within the community.

Kujipenda blossomed from a team of people who have dedicated their lives to improving the outcomes for their community. At the same, we are passionate about creating beautiful spaces, celebrating culture, and exemplifying joy.
